| Our "New" Recycled Crayons |
Yesterday Mommy got creative and decided to recycle some of the hundreds of broken pieces of crayon that are all over our house. It really is a simple project and the results are so much fun! I'm not sure who was more excited about the "new" crayon pucks, Mommy or Jackson :) Here's how we did it:
Recycled Crayons
What You Need: Crayon pieces, muffin tin, cooking spray
Step 1: Go on a hunt for broken crayons....this may take a while, they are EVERYWHERE!
 |
| Step 1: Broken Crayons |
Step 2: Take off all the wrappers.
 |
| Step 2: Wrappers removed |
Step 3: Break the big pieces into smaller pieces, an inch or so in size is good!
Step 4: Prepare a muffin tin with cooking spray.
Step 5: Put the crayon bits into the muffin tin. Try different colour combinations!
 |
| Step 3: Sort crayons into muffin tin |
Step 6: Melt crayons in the oven at 250* for about 15-20 minutes. **This part is for ADULTS only!**
Step 7: Let cool completely.
Step 8: Pop your "new" crayon pucks out of the muffin tin.
Step 9: Find some paper.
Step 10: COLOUR!!!!!!! See what fun colour combinations you came up with!
Wrap them up with a little ribbon and these would make a great gift idea, stocking stuffer, birthday party favour.....the possibilities are endless!
I'm sure once I am back to teaching, I will have TONS of crayon bits to recycle!
